Hess Stampede in the Gulf of Mexico

Stampede Starts Ahead of Schedule, Under Budget

Hess has capitalized on its proven track record in the Gulf of Mexico with the successful start up of the Stampede field — one of the largest undeveloped fields in the Gulf.  Hess is operator and has a 25 percent working interest in the field. Co-venture owners are Union Oil Co. of California, a subsidiary of Chevron Corp. (25%), Nexen Petroleum Offshore U.S.A. Inc., a wholly owned affiliate of CNOOC Limited (25%), and Equinor Gulf of Mexico LLC (25%). First oil was achieved in January 2018, with production to ramp up over the following 18 months.

Hess North Malay Basin Operations

A Natural Fit at North Malay Basin

The North Malay Basin full field development achieved first production of natural gas in July 2017. Hess has a 50 percent working interest and is operator of this long life natural gas asset comprised of nine discovered natural gas fields adjacent to our existing operations in the Joint Development Area (JDA) between Malaysia and Thailand. Petronas Carigali holds the remaining 50 percent of North Malay Basin and is also our partner in the JDA.

Hess South Arne Operations

Maximizing Value from the South Arne Field, Offshore Denmark

Hess has been active in the Danish North Sea since becoming the operator of the South Arne field in 1994. South Arne, located about 150 miles west of Esbjerg, has produced oil and gas since 1999 and uses horizontal production and water-injection wells to optimize production from chalk reservoirs.

Hess Has Deep Experience, Record of Success in the Gulf of Mexico

Hess has been active in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico for more than 25 years following our discovery of oil at the Baldpate field in 1991. Our company is the fifth-largest gross operated deepwater producer in the Gulf of Mexico, with current production coming from seven primary fields. We have strong operating capabilities and have been selected as the operator of choice by our Gulf of Mexico co-venture owners.
